Small business owners face constant cash flow pressure. Meanwhile, credit card rewards programs are more generous than ever. Between those two facts lies a legitimate financial strategy — but it's surrounded by misinformation, bad advice, and services that overcharge.

How we write our reviews

• Math first. Every recommendation includes the break-even calculation. If the fees eat the rewards, we say so.
• Independence. We use affiliate links to fund the site, but we rank by what we'd actually recommend to a friend — not by which partner pays the highest commission.
• Regular updates. Sign-up bonuses, merchant category codes, and fee structures all change. We review our top picks each quarter.
